I had already replaced the site’s favicon, but it did not quite convince me. Today, looking at the python logo, I realized it could easily be transformed into an S, which seemed very fitting for a simple but memorable favicon.
The final image has some details on the edges, but it is not relevant since converting it to a favicon reduces the size enormously.
There are several services to generate a favicon from an image; in this case I got the best results with favicon.io.
The favicon can be modified by directly replacing images/favicon.ico, or else, by editing the _includes/favicons.html file to define a different path.
